To connect your Private Email from Namecheap to Microsoft Outlook, follow these steps:


Step 1: Gather Email Settings

Before configuring Outlook, get your Private Email IMAP/POP and SMTP settings:

  • IMAP (recommended)
    • Incoming Mail Server: mail.privateemail.com
    • Port: 993
    • Encryption: SSL/TLS
  • POP3 (optional)
    • Incoming Mail Server: mail.privateemail.com
    • Port: 995
    • Encryption: SSL/TLS
  • SMTP (Outgoing)
    • Outgoing Mail Server: mail.privateemail.com
    • Port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
    • Encryption: SSL/TLS
    • Authentication: Required (Use your full email and password)

Step 2: Add Private Email to Outlook

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click on File > Add Account.
  3. Select Manual setup or additional server types, then click Next.
  4. Choose POP or IMAP, then click Next.
  5. Enter the following details:
    • Your Name: (Your preferred display name)
    • Email Address: (Your Private Email address)
    • Account Type: IMAP
    • Incoming Mail Server: mail.privateemail.com
    • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.privateemail.com
    • Username: (Your full Private Email address)
    • Password: (Your Private Email password)

Step 3: Configure Advanced Settings

  1. Click More Settings.
  2. Go to the Outgoing Server tab:
    • Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
    • Select Use the same settings as my incoming mail server.
  3. Go to the Advanced tab:
    • Incoming server (IMAP): 993 (SSL) or 143 (TLS)
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
    • Encryption type: SSL/TLS

Step 4: Complete Setup

  1. Click OK, then Next.
  2. Outlook will test the connection. If successful, click Finish.
  3. Your Private Email is now set up in Outlook.
